Federal Minister for Communications Murad Saeed says work on several new projects under CPEC will begin this year.
In a statement issued from Islamabad, Federal Minister for Communications Murad Saeed said that CPEC would pave the way for economic development of the entire region.
He said that work on Sukkur-Hyderabad 300 km motorway under CPEC would start this year after approval from ECNEC.
Murad Saeed said that Multan-Sukkur Motorway was completed last year and opened for traffic. This year, Havelian to Thakot route has also been completed and opened for traffic.
He said that Zhob Kuchlak Western Route is on procurement stage, on which work will start this year, while Hoshab Awaran 146 km road is also on procurement stage, which will be completed in 2 years.
The Federal Minister said that work on Awaran Nal 168 km western route would start in March next year, the second phase of Swat Motorway would be started in December this year.
Murad Saeed also said that work has also started on feasibility of Dir-Chitral Motorway, while feasibility of Sialkot-Kharian-Rawalpindi Motorway has already started.
