en.ppostnews.com: Rawalpindi, The Government of Punjab has taken notice of haphazard commercialization in the city and has ordered the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) to cancel the temporary commercialization it allows on an annual basis, according to a news source. The decision was taken in the 23rd meeting of the Standing Committee.
The Secretary of Housing and Urban Development has instructed the RDA Director General in writing to terminate the policy for temporary commercialisation in the city to control the problems it generates. Amendments are required to be made in the RDA’s Land Use Rules 2014’s Sections 28 and 31. The amendments are deemed important to fix increasing and irregular commercialisation in the city.
The amendments will be sent to the Punjab Chief Minister Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif for a final approval.
