KARACHI: The Supreme Court has also ordered that the housing societies be abolished on the railway land by sending notice within seven days and dismissing all occupations.
According to the details, the Supreme Court pronounced a major decision on the seizure of railway land and ordered to abolish housing societies on railway land and sent notice in 7 days to remove all illegal occupation.
The court directed the law enforcement agencies to assist the railways and said that whatever law enforcement agency should assist the railways, the Sindh government directed the government to provide alternative accommodation to the victims.
The court ruled that the basic facilities should be provided to the victims in the alternative places. Water, electricity, roads, schools should be provided in the alternate places.
The court said that the occupation of circular railway land was taking place on a daily basis and new occupations were also taking place, new occupations were being planned on the land. The entire society was built at Gulshan e Iqbal Railway Station.
The court directed Secretary Railway to remove all occupations and said that Secretary Railway should send notices to all occupants and the Sindh government should formulate a strategy to provide alternative accommodation to the victims.
Seeking implementation report till March 6, the court ordered Chief Secretary, Secretary Railway, Attorney General and Advocate General Sindh to appear in the next hearing.
