Karachi: The Sindh government has envisaged the development of the Dhabeji Industrial Zone on 1,530 acres of land situated in District Thatta and has sought proposals from eligible firms for the development and operationalization of said project.
The Dhabeji Industrial Zone is located near Karachi; providing access to Central Asia, South Asia, Middle East and Africa. The project will offer state-of-the-art infrastructure and allied utilities in addition to ensuring easy access to the Karachi Port and Main Railway Line (ML-1). The initiative will be launched under a public-private partnership (PPP) mode on design, build, finance, operate and transfer (DBFOT) basis through international competitive bidding.
Interested parties are invited to submit proposals that will be reviewed under the Single Stage Two Envelope procurement procedure – as per the Sindh Public Procurement Rules 2010. Bidders will also be required to deposit bid security of 5% of the bid price. The complete bidding package shall include the request for proposal and draft PPP agreement that shall be made available from today (December 7) and can also be downloaded online.
A pre-bid meeting for the interested firms will be held on December 23 at 10:30 am at the Governor Hall in Marriot Hotel of Karachi. The final date to submit the proposals is February 09, 2021, on noon at Sindh Economic Zones Management Company (SEZMC) office on Sharah-e-Faisal. The bids will be opened on the same date
