KARACHI: Sindh government with the assistance of Pak Army has planned to establish a field hospital at the Expo Centre Karachi based in the city due to the emerging cases of coronavirus disease.
The 10 thousands bed field hospital will aim at treating the patients suffering from the virus in Karachi as coronavirus tally of the city reached 57 cases.
Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah in this regard directed the Commissioner Karachi Iftikhar Shallwani to start arranging beds and other necessary equipments and place it at the expo centre.
The federal authorities had approved the suggestion given by the provincial authorities.
The Sindh government requested the citizens in the province to self-quarantine themselves for 14 days for the prevention from coronavirus.
The global death toll from the coronavirus pandemic has surged 5,000 from last week as 100 countries around the world battle desperately to contain its deadly spread.
A total of 3,176 people have died in China, followed by 1,016 in Italy and 514 in Iran. These are the three countries with the highest number of deaths.
