KARACHI: The Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) has declared 46 more buildings in Lyari as dangerous and issued a warning that 15 buildings could collapse at any time.
According to details, the Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) conducted a survey in the area after the incident of building collapse in Lyari. In the survey report, 46 more buildings in Lyari were declared dangerous.
The SBCA surveyed the Lyari area in 24 hours and compiled a list of 15 buildings that could collapse at any moment.
According to the report, the damaged buildings are 10 to 25 years old. More than 10 buildings in Lyari Khada Market are also included in the list while 46 damaged buildings have about one thousand flats and shops.
Sources said that a list of buildings has been compiled but notices have not been issued yet.
It may be recalled that the exhumation of bodies from the rubble of a collapsed building in Lyari area of Karachi is going on for the fourth day. The bodies of three persons including a woman were exhumed last night, after which the death toll rose to 22.
