SBCA expedited its launched survey to identify all dilapidated constructions

Karachi: In order to avoid any catastrophic incidences of collapsing buildings, the Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) has expedited its recently launched survey to identify all dilapidated constructions that may pose such threats during the upcoming monsoon season.

At the same time, the authority has notified the owners and residents of identified buildings to immediately vacate their premises.

The expected downpour during the rainy season makes such weak structures prone to collapsing, leading to the loss of life and property. In this regard, the SBCA also requested the owners and residents of such buildings to share details on the premises’ condition as this will help save time identifying unstable buildings.

In another development, the authority razed several illegally constructed structures in various areas of Saddar Town. The directives in this regard were issued by the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
