Gujrat: Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan is expected to launch computerized land record service (fard issuance) counters at five Pakistani embassies to enable overseas Pakistanis to obtain their valid property ownership records.
Reportedly, the launch preparations of these counters at Pakistani embassies in the United Kingdom (UK), United States (US), United Arab Emirates (UAE), Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) and Qatar are in their final stage – for which the launch date has yet to be finalised. In the initial stage, only the fard for the record will be issued at these land record service counters.
Reports reveal that the scope of the project is to be expanded to other missions as well. These land record services aim to facilitate the expatriate community. To this effect, the PM had given directives to the Punjab government at least a year ago. In its aftermath, the Punjab Land Record Authority (PLRA) and Foreign ministry initiated work on the project. The project was approved in October 2019.
