Lahore: Member of Governor Punjab’s Social Welfare Committee Saad Nazi has revealed that the ‘Mera Ghar’ project would be launched with an aim to provide shelter to homeless children and orphans in the province. It was further revealed that the project will be completed in collaboration with the help of private sector.
In addition to ‘Mera Ghar’, the Governor’s Social Welfare Committee will also set up shelter homes for senior citizens and differently-abled people. The committee member stated that the establishment of a ‘Mobile Langar Khana’ and free ambulance service is also under consideration.
Speaking to media, Saad said the COVID-19 outbreak has affected the economy and countless people are in need of financial help. He requested people to extend help to those in need. He also shared details on the organisations from the private sector that are extending financial aid for setting up ‘Mera Ghar’ and other projects for people in need of shelter and food.
