Islamabad: A consortium of some of the leading businessmen in the country has announced its decision to invest in two mega-projects. This consortium will invest in the Urban Development and Bundle Island Project (UDBSP) in Karachi and the Ravi River Front Urban Development Project (RRFUDP) in Lahore.

The relevant authorities informed Prime Minister Imran Khan about these investment plans in a meeting on Thursday (September 24). They also told him that further details of these investments will be shared in the next week.

Other members of this meeting included Sindh Governor Imran Ismail, Governor of the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) Reza Baqir, Chairman of the Naya Pakistan Housing Authority (NPHA) Lieutenant General (retired) Anwar Ali Haider and various businessmen.

The prime minister expressed his pleasure at this development and instructed that the government should remove all possible hurdles for these investments. Both these projects are aimed at tackling overpopulation in the metropolitan cities of Karachi and Lahore by developing mega-cities nearby.
