Karachi: Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Syed Murad Ali Shah directed the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC), the Karachi Water & Sewerage Board (KWSB), the Karachi Development Authority (KDA), the Sindh Solid Waste Management Board (SSWMB) and the district municipal corporations concerned to join forces to drain all stagnant water patches from various parts of the city – irrespective of their individual jurisdictions.
The chief minister gave these orders while chairing a meeting at his residence. He was adamant for the interdepartmental coordination and dedication without any discrimination based on jurisdiction.
Moreover, Shah emphasised that the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) and all civic agencies have laboured hard to restore the city by clearing the stagnant water after the recent rain spells.
Meanwhile, the chief minister instructed Commissioner Sohail Rajput to organise an inventory list of the available pumps, dewatering machines, suction machines and such machines owned by the civic agencies so that they can be timely utilised when needed.
