IDWP approved development projects worth PKR 27.594 billion for the City’s rural areas

Islamabad: The Islamabad Development Working Party (IDWP) approved development projects worth PKR 27.594 billion for the rural areas falling within the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT); including the construction of several roads at a cost of PKR 121.56 billion.

The IDWP meeting, presided over by Islamabad Chief Commissioner Amir Ali Ahmed, reviewed several projects and approved a total of 122 schemes. Member National Assembly (MNA) Khurram Nawaz and officials representing the finance division, interior ministry and the planning division also attended the meeting.

As per the publication, the IDWP approved sanitation projects worth PKR 120.25 billion, construction of bridges in National Assembly’s constituencies 52, 53 and 54 at a cost of PKR 863.819 million and water supply schemes at a cost of PKR 2.549 billion. This is in addition to the road projects approved in these constituencies.

Furthermore, sources claim that developmental work on these schemes is expected to be completed in the next three years. Chief Commissioner Ahmed directed the officials to ensure that the established construction standards are implement to ensure quality deliverance.
