Islamabad: China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Authority Chairman Lieutenant General (retired) Asim Saleem Bajwa stated that the development work of the M-8 Motorway would be resumed by the government on a ‘top priority’ basis.
Bajwa, in a tweet, said that the Central Development Working Party (CDWP) had approved PKR 26 billion for the construction of a 146-kilometres-long section that runs from the Hoshab portion of the motorway to Awaran. He called it a beacon of light for the people of South Balochistan.
On Saturday, the CPCEC Authority Chairman had also announced that development work on the Gwadar International Airport was underway. He had reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to the CPEC projects as per Prime Minister Imran Khan’s vision.
Last week, the Prime Minister had also stressed that all projects under CPEC would be completed soon, since CPEC is the guarantor of Pakistan’s future. He also called it an excellent project for the country’s socio-economic development.
