LAHORE: The airport administration has declared high-rise buildings and colonies around the airport as dangerous for aircraft.
According to the report, the airport management declared the high-rise buildings and colonies around Lahore Airport as dangerous for aircraft. Airport Manager Akhtar Mirza informed the CAA in writing about the concerns.
The airport manager said in the letter that illegal constructions have been carried out within 15 km of the airport and no action has been taken despite repeated notifications to the Lahore Building Control Authority and other concerned agencies.
The Lahore Airport Manager said that illegal constructions around the take off and approach area could lead to a dangerous accident at any time.
According to Akhtar Mirza, the Civil Aviation Authority does not have the authority to take action against illegal constructions.
He said that large billboards, antennas and buildings around the airport were in a dangerous condition and the airport manager demanded to take notice of the negligence of the building control authority.
