Islamabad: The federal cabinet decided to form a high-level committee to scrutinise and recommend effective ways to boost the workings of the construction industry. The committee will include representatives of both the federal and provincial governments.
Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan presided over the meeting of the federal cabinet where it was decided that a committee will be formed on the pattern of the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) under the Naya Pakistan Housing Authority (NPHA) to find solutions to the problems for construction industry in the country.
The meeting also discussed the construction of high-rise buildings near the airports in Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar and Multan. The cabinet was brief that no-objections certificates (NOCs) have been issued for 62% of the areas near the said airports, while the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has been asked to issue NOCs for buildings in its jurisdiction.
