Islamabad: Chief Commissioner Amer Ali Ahmed directed Deputy Commissioner (DC) Hamza Shafqaat to conduct a land audit of all cooperative housing societies in the capital city, according to a news report. He issued these instructions during a meeting held at the Jinnah Convention Centre.
Ahmed, who also serves as the acting chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), instructed the DC to conduct the land audit on a priority basis. Its purpose is to determine whether there are any shortfalls in issuing allotment letters to members, he added.
There are over 100 cooperative housing societies in Islamabad, and the aim is to audit all of them. Under this land audit, the authorities will also determine if the societies’ operators have used up the green areas for other purposes. Ahmed also directed these societies to fulfil their responsibilities to the members.
He also held meetings with representatives of the Association of Builders and Developers to resolve their issues.
