Karachi: Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Syed Murad Ali Shah on Tuesday (September 29) issued instructions to the transport department to complete the BRT Orange Line infrastructure on a timely basis.
He further directed the authorities concerned to acquire the loan grant from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for the Red Line project and finalise the design for the Yellow Line system.
The CM was presiding over a meeting of the provincial transport department to review the progress of the development on the BRT. Minister for Transport Awais Qadir Shah was also present on the occasion. Murad said that the department should set a timeline for the inauguration of the projects.
The meeting was informed that the Orange Line had been renamed as ‘BRT Abdul Sattar Edhi’. The project would feature a 3.8-kilometre-long track, four bus stations, and one terminal. The project would be completed at a cost of PKR 2.36 billion.
