High Dependency Unit (HDU) has been set up at Expo Center Karachi. This High Dependency Unit has been set up in collaboration with Pakistan Army and Sindh Government.
Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah inaugurated the High Dependency Unit (HDU) while Information Minister Nasir Hussain Shah, senior civil and military officials were also present on the occasion.
According to Sindh Chief Minister’s Spokesperson Abdul Rashid Channa, the services of Indus Hospital management will also be sought in running the High Dependency Unit (HDU). Syed Murad Ali Shah also appreciated the efforts of Pakistan Army and medical staff.
On the occasion, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah said that a High Dependency Unit equipped with modern medical equipment has been set up in a short span of ten days. HDU consists of 140 beds and seven rooms. HDU will add 140 oxygen beds in Karachi
He further said that the establishment of HDU will reduce the medical load from other hospitals. Patients in need of oxygen will be kept in HDU. Trained paramedical staff will be available in every ward at all times.
The HDU also has state-of-the-art medical facilities with plenty of oxygen. The Pakistan Army has already set up a 1200-bed field isolation center at the Expo Center.
The Chief Minister said that we already have 1553 HDU beds and now 140 more beds have been arranged.
