Karachi: The city administration imposed micro and smart lockdowns in several potential coronavirus hotspots across Karachi in a bid to limit the spread of COVID-19 amid the ongoing second wave sources.
As per the official sources, it was revealed that to reduce and control the spread of the virus, it has become imperative to ensure quarantine, contact tracing and testing, wearing of masks and social distancing.
The official order stated that the movement of people in the localities under lockdown shall be restricted. As per the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), only grocery shops, convenience stores, bakeries and pharmacies shall be allowed to remain open during specific timings.
In addition, all sorts of industrial units in the areas shall remain closed and no home delivery or takeaways will be allowed from any fast food joints or restaurants in these potential COVID-19 hotspots. This smart lockdown shall remain effective till December 5. During these dates, no private or family gathering will be allowed and no gatherings of over three people will be allowed in specified areas.
