Karachi: The Bahria Town Karachi management has notified its intent to waive the maintenance charges for all developed but vacant plots situated within the scheme, according to a recent notice sent to the society’s plot owners. To this effect, the administration has announced the suspension of these charges till September 1, 2021; in addition to extending the deadline pertaining to plots possession (previously set for September 30) till December 31.
The notice mentions the facilities and amenities available in ‘Pakistan’s first lifestyle community’. It adds: ‘Bahria Town management is please to inform you that we have started giving possession in many precincts. In addition, Bahria Town is working round the clock to give you possession of remaining projects on time.’
According to the notification, Quaid Block, Bahria Homes, Bahria Apartments and Iqbal Villas is currently hosting families, whereas ‘Model Villas of Bahria Paradise, Sports City, Bahria Homes and Model Apartments are open for visitors.’
Earlier in February, Bahria Town CEO Malik Riaz Hussain announced his decision to defer the possession charges applicable on developed plots. Since the management has now decided to collect these charges, there would be repercussions of non-compliance. This includes change in the location of plots against which the outstanding dues will not be paid by the mentioned deadline.
